General (Ret.) Gary Brito is the inaugural Chair of the Strategic Advisory Council for Penn State’s National Security Institute. A Penn State alumnus, Brito retired in 2025 as a four-star general in the U.S. Army after 38 years of active-duty service. Among his awards and decorations, he has earned the Distinguished Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Legion of Merit and others, reflecting his exceptional leadership and valor.
